Cretaceous Bolide.. by Robert A. M. Stephens .............. It is postulated and fairly well accepted now that the Dinosaur age was terminated by the catatrosphic event of a bolide entering Earth's space and killing off the great lizard dynasty. If so, I have attempted to capture this event in the Cretaceous time for arguments sake in that if it happened once, it will happen again as it has happened in the distance past. Here, the beach roaming creatures have been grazing on shore plant life and in a few milliseconds, 30 miles distance out past the lagoon and into the open ocean, a bolide has come down and impacted Earth's surface. For scale sake, at thirty miles, the rising plume wall of super heated sea water is already 2 miles high as viewed there in the distance at impact point. The bright soft light of Apocalypse is upon these gentle creatures, too slow to understand what is, only that something different has occured, its portent of what is to come for themselves and the Earth is outside their paucity to grasp. It is and was, sadly, the end of all things. An Apocrapha. However, for those that embrace 'Gaia' and other new age rubbish, the Earth abides, flesh and bone do not.
