Morgan Ridge, Wyoming, by Robert A. M. Stephens
In the summer time in the central Wyoming area there tends to be mixes of extreme heat and then furious thunderstorms, so inherent in the broad reaches of the American West. This rough ridge country is no exception. I love to wait and then capture these tempests in the late afternoon but I prefer to have the top ready for my Jeep to slip on and keep out of the wet fury. This place is obviously quite dramatic in its repose, and equally dramatic to try and get to without a rig to do so and get out of here safely. But this wild lighting and storm is what it is all about and I do live to capture these fleeting natural events when I am lucky enough to be there. This piece is an Oil on Panel. Size: 21 3/4" x 42". This painting is #526 in the Catalog Inventory listing and is available for acquisition. |
