C&O 4 Truck Shay Locomotive. CAD Drawing..by Robert A. M. Stephens. ... Collection of Finesacle Railroader Magazine. Not all my work is imaging. This above is a CAD drawing, one of 450 in the Stillwater Mills Archive, documenting various marks of narrow gauge steam locomotives from the industrail steam era. This particular locomotive is one of the big 180 ton geared engines built by Lima for the coal region of the eastern US. At the time of this machines building and delivery it was one of a group of the largest steam locomoitves ever built at the time. To realize the size of the locomotive the cab door had a head clearance measurement of just over 6 feet. This particular CAD drawing is from the series of articles that I have written for Finescale Railroader Magazine. It has ran for about 2 years with many installments pertinent to the Shay type locomotive since it is one my favorite types. I do all my CAD work in Apple's ClarisDraw or VectorWorks 8.5. |
