- Headwaters, Hell's Canyon, Wyoming, by Robert A. M. Stephens.
-
- This is the front range country of the Wind-River-Hell's ravine country of western
- Wyoming, and is accessible on the one hand by all modes of transportation. However,
- to get views like this with some paints and panels, it is easier to have a Jeep with
- lockers front and rear in the differentials, winches, and the ability to drive it, and
- get up into these places to set up a spike camp, then paint a few hours or a couple
- of days. The weathers and summer light with the afternoon storms, change the
- lighting exponentially as the day starts and progresses, so the wait and paint mode
- is well worth it. I hope I have captured this effect in this small study, which I
- eventually brought back to the studio and finished into a final piece as seen here.
-
- This piece is Oil on Panel. Size: 14" x 24". This painting is #535 in the Catalog
- Inventory listing and is available for acquisition.
