Moran Lake, Glacier National Park, Montana, by Robert A. M. Stephens.

This scene is of the wild and rugged country of western Montana, a painter's paradise, par excellence! Here, the primitive landscape sets in quiet repose, ageless. And this painting went to China in the first cultural exchange between the United States and the People's Republic. I was involved as the nation chose one artist from each of the 50 states.

Some of the artist involved had their work refused from exhibition, the Chinese never being around western artist before from the US, were offended by some images, though all were good and high quality by our standards.

The goal was to have one's art that had been submitted there to be inducted into the National Academy of Art, the People's Republic of China Grand Salon, a 4000 year old establishment being the head stone of all that is China for all time in artistic expression.

This piece was accepted.

Thankfully.

I was only 29 at the time. Many laurels of accomplishment were coming my way by that time, internationally, but this was the Coup de Grace' up to that time.

The entire entourage came home after 10 days. I remained. I wandered China for 6 months, alone, and most if not all, had never seen a Caucasian let alone a Cowboy. They always ask me if I was a Christian. And when I would answer hauntingly, they would the ask how long the Biblical Tribulation had been going on. There was no 'rapture' garbage for these devout people. And there is no rapture of any kind for anyone. China was a window of what is to come to us all on the Earth.

Behold.
